Nujoom Kids — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 October 2026

In short: Nujoom Kids collects nothing and sends nothing, and it does not use the internet. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no in-app purchases and no tracking. The app is free. Everything a child does in it — the optional hero name, stars, and progress — stays on the device. The app declares no internet permission at all, so it cannot connect to the internet; anyone can verify this by inspecting the installed package. The only outside communication is with the Android system itself, and only when you act.

Who we are

Nujoom Kids is a free, offline learning app for children, designed in Arabic: short bilingual animated lessons in Arabic and English, alphabet adventures, illustrated storybooks read aloud, a Talking Cards picture-word board, and a library of games. It is published by Plapl Games and distributed through Google Play and the Amazon Appstore. This policy covers both versions.

Information we collect

None. Nujoom Kids does not collect, store off the device, or share any personal information. Specifically, the app does not collect:

What the app does keep, on the device only:

The app works offline

Nujoom Kids runs entirely on the device. Every lesson, storybook, game, picture and narration clip is bundled inside the app. It contains no analytics, attribution or crash-reporting software. The app does not declare the Android internet permission, which means the operating system does not allow it to open a network connection at all — not when it starts, not in the background, not ever.

Two things involve anything outside the app, and each is a hand-off to the Android system that happens only when you act:

That is the complete list.

Device permissions

Nujoom Kids asks for no permissions. Its Android manifest declares no uses-permission entries of any kind: no internet, no camera, no microphone, no storage, no location, no contacts. There is nothing to grant and nothing to decline. The app does not even use vibration.

Where your data is stored

The hero name, stars and progress live in the app's private storage on the device. Nothing is uploaded — there is no server to upload to, and the app has no way to reach one.

Children

Nujoom Kids is designed for children and is listed on Google Play as Designed for Families with a content rating of Everyone. We take that seriously in the simplest way we can: the app collects no personal information from anyone, so no collection from children can occur. This is how it satisfies children's privacy laws such as COPPA in the United States and the children's provisions of the GDPR — not by asking for consent, but by having nothing to consent to.

There is no advertising of any kind, so there is no behavioural advertising and no profiling. There are no in-app purchases, no links out to the web, and no social features.

Text-to-speech

Much of the narration in Nujoom Kids is bundled with the app as ready-made audio clips: the Arabic lessons and the Talking Cards board ship with their own narrated files, which play from the device with no engine involved.

For read-aloud of storybook pages, lesson captions and the sentences a child builds on the Talking Cards board, the app uses the device's own text-to-speech engine. This is an Android system service, not part of Nujoom Kids. The app sends it the text to be spoken and the language; the engine speaks it and reports back when it has finished. Which engine runs, and whether it processes speech on the device or elsewhere, is decided by the engine you have installed and its own settings, not by us. On most devices this is Google's text-to-speech engine, which speaks on the device once its voice data is installed. Nujoom Kids receives no audio and no personal data back from the engine.

No third parties

Nujoom Kids contains no advertising, no analytics or tracking tools, no billing library and no third-party components that collect data. The only software outside the app that it talks to is the Android system: the text-to-speech service, the voice installer and your email app, each only when you act.

Data security

Nothing leaves the device, so there is nothing of yours for us to secure on a server and nothing we retain. The app has no network access, which is enforced by the operating system rather than by our good intentions. Local data is protected by Android's ordinary per-app storage isolation and by whatever screen lock you use on the device.

Changes to this policy

This version describes Nujoom Kids 1.0.30. No released version of Nujoom Kids has ever collected or sent anything.

If this policy ever changes, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Because the app's offline, no-collection design is core to what Nujoom Kids is, we expect any changes to be minor.
